How Williamsons Real Estate handles the personal information you send through this website.
Sections marked “Draft — pending review” are placeholder text and are not yet the agency’s policy. Everything else on this page is current and applies to information you send us today.
Who we are
Williamsons Real Estate is an independent real estate agency at 47 Princes Way, Drouin VIC 3818. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you send us through this website, and is intended to meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
If you have a question about this policy, call the office on 03 5625 1023, or write to us at the address above.
What we collect, and why
We collect only what a form asks for: your name, your email address, your phone number, the message you write, and — depending on the form — the property you are asking about, the address of a property you would like appraised, the choices you make from a list — what your message is about, what kind of property it is, when you are thinking of selling — and the boxes you tick.
We use it to answer your enquiry, to arrange an inspection or an appraisal, and, only if you tick the box for it, to let you know about listings and local sales. That box is never ticked for you, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
If you put your name down on the off-market register, or save a search, we also keep your email address, your description of what you are looking for, and the search itself. We keep that so we can get in touch if something suitable comes up. To come off the register, call or email the office and we will remove it.
We also record the ordinary technical details of the request that carried your enquiry: a one-way hash of your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the page you sent it from and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. We use the hash to stop automated abuse of the forms; it is not reversible and we do not use it to identify you. We remove the hash of your IP address and your user-agent string from the enquiry record 30 days after you send it. The page you sent it from and any campaign parameters stay with the enquiry for as long as the enquiry itself.
Overseas disclosure
Your information is disclosed overseas. Our CRM is hosted in the United States, so everything we forward to it is stored there.
The error-monitoring provider described above may also store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
The video and virtual-tour platforms described above are also outside Australia, in the United States. Nothing reaches them unless you choose to play a video or open a tour, so this disclosure is one you can decline simply by not doing so.
If you would rather not have your details leave Australia, call or visit the office instead of using a form.
How long we keep it
We remove your name, contact details and message from our website records 24 months after your enquiry is delivered to our office, or 24 months after you send it if it is never delivered; the CRM record is managed by Williamsons Real Estate.
The technical details we keep to stop abuse go sooner: the hash of your IP address and your user-agent string are removed from the enquiry record 30 days after you send it, whether or not it has been delivered by then.
What remains on the website after the scrub is the enquiry without you in it: its reference, what kind of enquiry it was, which property it concerned, when it was delivered, the page you sent it from and any campaign parameters, the version of the notice you were shown — version 2026-08-24 — and your marketing choice: whether you ticked the box, the kind of consent that gave, the version of the wording you ticked and the moment you ticked it. We keep that so we can show an enquiry was received, answered, and collected under the notice and the consent that applied at the time.
A saved search works to a different rule, because it has to: we keep your email address and what you are looking for until you ask us to stop, otherwise there is nothing to match against. Ask the office and we remove it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Call the office on 03 5625 1023, or write to us at the address above.
We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, tell us first so we have the chance to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
